Conversation with God and parents
Dear Diary,
Im 21 and my boyfriend and i have become sexually active and we aren't planning on starting a family. I went to the doctor and she suggested that i use Depo Provera but i am uncertain. I am Catholic and am unsure of what God and my parents might think about me using protection as it is against catholic beliefs. I am also uncertain about what my parents and God might think about my being sexually active at my age and before marriage but i do love him and hope to be his wife someday and start a family with him but at the moment i am too young and am not ready for this kind of commitment. I am old enough to make my own decisions and am capable to hadle the consequences but as long as i am happy my family will support me but im not sure what God will think as i have sinned. I hope God will forgive me since i haven't sinned until now.

(amber) patient- Victoria Winters
v: Hello Ms Victoria Winters i’m doctor Hofman how may I assist you?
a: Well my boyfriend and I have been sexual actice but I’m not planing to have a child any time soon.
v: Oh I see, I’m guessing you want to find out the best method of protection there is for you?
a: Yes.
v: Well recently there has been a new method of birth control thats in the in the form of a needle called depo provera.
a: I’ve never heard of it, how does it work?
v: It’s actually quite simple, you receive an injection that prevents pregnancy for up to 12- 14 weeks.
a: Am i only supposed to take it once or a few times over a period of time?
v: you have to come back every 12 weeks for full production.
a: Are there any side effects or disadvantages?
v: the only main disadvantage is that it does not prevent SDI’s and some side effects include headaches, irregular periods, acne, weight gain, hair loss etc.
a: Ok are there any advantages of using Depo Provera
v: yes of course its been proven to be 99% effective, it’s less expensive than the pill and provides long term protection.
a: Is there any reason why i shouldn’t take it?
v:It’s not recommended if you have breast cancer, liver disease, blood clots or other vairious health issues.
a: does my partner need to take it
v: well thats really up to you, both males and females can use depo povera.
a: is there anything else I need to know
v: only that if you decide to have a baby you have to stop using depo povera 3 months after your last shot.
a: ok so would you recommend it for me?
v: Have a chat with your partner then come back and ill book your appointment.
a: Thank you so much doctor
